Patek Philippe World Time 18K Rose Gold

Price:
$35,900
Location:
Boston, MA
Description:

This incarnation of the 18K rose gold Patek Philippe 5130R (5130R-001) World Time watch has a larger case of 39.5mm and was introduced in 2006. It replaced the 5110 that debuted in 2000 for the millennium, which was 37mm. It's inspired by the original World Time watches with a newly hypnotic silvered guilloche sunburst pattern in the center, and more surface area with which to read the 24 time zones. The functions are hours, minutes, small seconds, and world time. The Patek World Time system is based on Master horologist, Louis Cottier's 1930's mechanism for exhibiting time zones all over the world. The ring-shaped hour hand also comes from the designs of the 1930's and 40's; the button at the 10 o'clock position adjusts the 24-city complication by advancing the hour hand in hour increments to get the local time while you're traveling. This moves the city ring so your local time zone will appear at 12 o'clock; the ring is color coded to indicate if it's day or night. The new mechanical automatic World Time movement is the Caliber 240 HU, which vibrates at 21,600 oscillations an hour; it has a Gyromax balance wheel, 33 jewels and 239 parts, a 22K gold off-center mini-rotor, and a power reserve of 48 hours. The hour markers are applied gold and it's only water resistant to 30m. The strap is alligator with an 18K rose gold deployant fold-over clasp. It's produced in white and rose gold, and platinum.
