A close friend provided me this PS3 and I planned to fix it nevertheless I purchased a PS4. According to him the disc drive was not working and he had actually taken it apart to get his disc back then put it back together. He also got rid of the hard disk and caddy, although you can place a hard disk drive without the caddy. I had a 20g difficult drive to check the console.
