The indication of hours follows a system developed by Jean Gengrugge, where the compass retrograde spheres which slide in 2 separate sectors, one indicating the hours, the other the minutes, are repositioned to zero respectively after 12 hours and 60 minutes.Functions: hours and minutes indicated in a bi-retrograde style.Case: in 18 karat yellow gold, in 3 parts; 36 x 8.5 mm (excl. lugs crown); sapphire crystal; screw-on case back with sapphire exhibition window; yellow gold crown. Water-resistant to 30 meters.Dial: in 22 karat yellow gold, depicting the Western Hemisphere (North South America, Australia and Antarctica) in a period Mercator map, hand-engraved; yellow gold compass hands.Indications: time only.Strap: brown alligator with matching yellow gold double-deployment clasp.
