This is a really fancy wood clarinet that our daughter played in school. It will work for a newbie however might be better matched for somebody who's been betting a few years and desires a much better sounding instrument. It has been re-corked twice with the last time being at least 3 years ago but the corks are still in fantastic shape. Includes a hard case that is in wonderful shape and a brand new, never made use of plastic mouth piece. The wood mouth piece broke and isn't consisted of. When it was made from that however couldn't find anything for sure, the serial number on it is 2565C and I tried to trace. A brand-new clarinet of this quality would cost even more than $1000 today. The band director for our senior high school stated he would really like this clarinet to remain in his band since the sound is so good so that says something.
