Only one month until the Suwannee Bicycle Association Spring Pedal 'n' Paddle Festival, April 29 - May 1!! Information for this event is located at http://www.suwanneebike.org/sbf.htm and http://www.active.com/cycling/white-springs-fl/spring-bicycle-and-paddle-festival-2011.If interested please complete the online registration form on SBA web site or Active.com website listed above. Deadline for mail in registration and to receive Spring Festival t-shirt is April 20, 2011. After April 19, please mail registration form to SBA post office box in White Springs.EventsOff road rides: For the first time, you will be able to ride a portion of our new Stephen Foster State Park (SFSP) "Loop" trail. When completed, this trail will offer approximately 9+ miles inside SFSP, with a variety of terrain. Plus, our existing trails are in great shape and offer something for all skill levels. Beginner Mountain Bike clinic is also available on Saturday a.m.Paddling: Canoes and Kayaks for the pedal 'n' paddle are limited. Please call Spirit of Suwannee Canoe Outpost ASAP. This year the Suwannee River Jam is the same weekend as SBA Spring Festival. If you plan to pedal 'n' paddle go to www.canoeoutpost.com or call 386-364-XXXX. On Friday, is an opportunity to paddle the Ichetucknee River. Other Suwannee River paddle opportunities are also available.Road Rides: There are a variety of road rides, including the popular Hydroponic Hop on Friday, where we get to tour the Hydroponic gardens to learn more about this type of agriculture. Other road rides are scheduled that offer scenic wild flowers, variety of mileage and more.Hiking along the banks of the Suwannee River is always wonderful and this year, we are offering an Edible Plants Hike on Saturday at Big Shoals.There are lots of other social activities, starting with a potluck dinner on Thursday, Friday Night Meet and Greet and dinner, and Saturday's Chocolate Extravaganza.If you have additional questions, please feel free to contact us by email or phone.
